Title: FCC Corrects Error in R & O (Phone Bands??) Effective December 15, 2006 Post by: Pete, WA2CWA on November 28, 2006, 04:17:45 PM The FCC today released an Erratum that corrects one error in the recent Report and Order (R&O) in WT Docket 04-140 -- the so-called "omnibus" Amateur Radio proceeding -- that inadvertently limited J2D emissions to an occupied bandwidth of 500 Hz. J2D emissions are data sent by modulating an SSB transmitter. AMfone - Dedicated to Amplitude Modulation on the Amateur Radio Bands
So, if seems to me that since this "J2D" are emissions sent by modulating an SSB transmitter, this should affect the phone bands. Since there are no legal phone bandwidth limitations, these users can probably run just about anything as long as they observe "good operating practices". With this erratum, all this stuff is now legal below 30 MHz: PACTOR III at full capability as well as Olivia and MT63, 1200 baud packet, Q15X25 and Clover 2000. Am I reading this stuff correctly? |
