Title: Shaft Reducers
Post by: David, K3TUE on September 16, 2006, 11:38:31 PM
Anyone know where I can procure one or two shaft reducers?  Specifically, I need to tune a 3/8" shaft with a 1/4" knob/reduction drive.

most hobby shops stock a small diameter tubing and shaft assortment in both brass, aluminum and sometimes stainless. The tubing is sized so that each successive size nests inside the next. This allows the making of reducers/expanders to adapt just about any size. I discovered this tubing 30 years ago and have used it for rebushing worn carb bodies on SU's , rebushing distorted HRO & KWS1 tuning knobs (after boring out on a lathe), etc, etc.
good stuff
