Title: AM Poem Found! Post by: WU2D on June 03, 2006, 05:10:32 PM I have been going through some of my heaps of papers down in the shack trying to organize things. Anyway I came across a poem that I apparently wrote in 1992. That makes it 14 years old - who knows what set me off - I can not even remember writing this. wow
It is simply called DIST-IRBED ALL YOU BAND POLUTING ENGINEER YUPPIES, THE WRETCHED REFUSE OF THE MILITARISTIC 80's, NOW PUMPING GAS AND PRESSING CIDER.. YOU KILOCYCLE COPS- MEGACYCLE MEGALOMANIACS WHO TAKETH AWAY OUR BANDS! YOU HOARDS OF BURNED OUT HIPPIES, PSYCHOACOUSTICALLY COUPLED TO DIALESS RANGERS COME ON ALL YOU MARXIST MINSTRELS - LET"S ROCK AND ROLL! THE TRILATERAL COMMISSION; THE INSURANCE MAFIA; MEDICAL HITLERS WHERE IS MY THOMAS JEFFERSON? WHERE IS MY HENRY FORD? WHAT WE NEED IS A GOOD OLD BENEVOLENT DICTATOR! An AM QSO loud and clear Without the grunting hogs nearby Without the sideband mating cry. The FCC will scream and cry Oh what a thoughtless careless guy If an AM station makes a slip Of modulation or of lip. But 20 kc's of sideband splatter Is quite another different matter And cussing sideband loud and clear Is something that they never hear. The manufacturers lobby stays In Washington where the money plays Between their hands and the FCC To force sideband on you and me. So sit back boys and pay it no mind And one day you will wake up to find A band that's not unlike CB Where there's no more room for you and me. -Walt, WB4AOE ca 1964 Title: Re: AM Poem Found!
