Title: What! - A Clegg 10 10'er Transceiver Post by: Pete, WA2CWA on March 19, 2026, 03:08:38 AM What?? Clegg made a 10 meter transceiver - not really, but it's fun to say!
Dale, W4OP, created a working one and it looks good. Beautiful write up in Issue Number 414 March/April 2026 of Electric Radio Magazine, page 28. Also go to Dale's web page, http://www.parelectronics.com/vintage-clegg-1010er.php to see how he danced with a Clegg 22'er to create the Clegg 10 10'er. Since Clegg had model numbers like 99'er, 22'er, 66'er, etc., I not sure why Dale labeled his unique rig 10 10'er (but that's probably a story for a different day). W4OP really had to want a 10-meter Clegg to go through all that work. From neutralization problems to a drifting VFO, gremlins were out in force.
It looked like he really enjoyed that project, but my 66'er will stay on 6-meters. I first met Ed Clegg when I was 15 or 16 and went with a friend to visit Ed's Mount Tabor, NJ factory. Saw the workers building the Clegg 99'er, Zeus transmitter, and Interceptor receiver. Got together with him by phone back in the late 80's. He sent me all his old documents and notes on his early manufactured products and also documents on some of the Squires Sanders/Clegg products. But would rather get him to put it on an antenna and join us on the local 6M Wednesday evening chat net. Let see what happens, good either way. Pete, did you get any docs on the 62T10 or Clegg Climaster 250?

Ed didn't send any info on these two models. Although, when we went to visit the Mt. Tabor factory, Ed had a corner area of the factory where he diddled/real time engineering with his product line and I do remember seeing a 62T10 there. |
