Title: Another BC-348 Video! Post by: KA3EKH on August 15, 2025, 09:19:31 PM Have to wonder if people get tired of me posting links to my junk here? anyway I just completed a new video on the BC-348 receiver and put that up on the Tube. Had a bunch of sets in storage and decided to put several together from them. Big thing is testing and alignment so did some video of that. You can see it at:

Post by: KA3EKH on August 22, 2025, 10:39:10 AM In the world of surplus military radios a lot of people obsess over the Command/ARC-5 stuff because its small but I have always regarded that stuff as too limited in function and poor preforming. The BC-348 family of receivers is larger, more functional and better preforming and still eighty years after being built can be used for CW and AM and although not equal to modern technology can still hold its own when band cruising or during a AM QSO. The BC-348 was my first "good" radio that I owned over fifty years ago and a radio that for many provides a bridge into military hardware and vintage AM. At least two of the receivers in this batch that I have thrown together will be paired with ART-13 transmitters for vintage AM stations. |
