Title: BC-474 / SCR-288 Post by: KA3EKH on July 07, 2025, 12:53:47 PM been working on a BC-474 transmitter receiver that makes about 4 watts of plate modulated AM on eighty meters.
Its a early WW2 design by RCA that uses one volt tubes in the receiver and three 6V6 tubes in the transmitter. One for the VFO, one for the PA and the last for the modulator. Fun project so far, did not expect much from this set being so simple but have to say after getting it going am impressed by its performance. If there is any interest can post more details.
