He would ask a technical question and someone would try to help him and then he would lambaste the fellow who was helping him or he would argue with everyone because of something outlandish he would say! I think he got jackbooted over on QRZ as well since I don't see him post over there anymore. Personally, good riddance!

When I posted the original guideline about this topic, it was related to intentional interference AMers were experiencing. It's a common reaction to want to lash out and give them a piece of your mind. Which is exactly what they crave. With jamming, it basically gives them a signal report to know how successful they are. They are, afterall, trolls - looking for a reaction. Discussing them on here results in the same outcome: giving them the attention they so desperately need. Clearly they didn't get enough hugs, didn't get a participation trophy, or whatever else along life's road. They have a screw loose (or maybe an entire assembly). While it may feed our inner narcissist to give them the what for, it only prolongs the situation. If this sounds like a 'holier-than-thou' explanation, it's not. Years ago I was also one of the "use a dummy load!" fools on the bands. To borrow Archie Bunker's term, I was finally able to dummy up and stop feeding the trolls. Yes, it is amazing how fast they stop when they don't get the satisfaction and recognition they crave. Easier to move along and find someone else who will play their game. This is a moderated forum. As moderators, we try to keep a lid on perceived "crazy troll" stuff. Talking about "them", as indicated, fuels their existence, so keeping them at bay, is something moderators try to monitor and/or control very closely. Sometimes hard, sometimes easy, but we try our best. If you, as a member, perceive an issue or concern with a particular post or poster, a private e-mail to a moderator should be your action. The mods, John, Todd, Pete, Steve, etc. have a thankless job keeping the various AMfone forums in line and operating smoothly. They have been keeping it running smoothly since the AMfone kickoff. Thanks for keeping it together and not letting it turn into typical social media mayhem that we see today. On behalf of the membership and myself, a job well done, thanks guys. Hope it continues for the many years ahead. |
