Title: Did I hear it good.... Post by: pe1mph on October 24, 2024, 11:41:02 AM Hello AM Lovers,
Just I had a qso on 29.020 ofcourse in AM. Oh first.... good conditions on Ten meter last days! Days before today I had already a qso with: CT1EHI, 29.020 big signal! W0MS call correct?, 29.060 fair WA1SOV Peet, 29.020 good signal PA3HDM, 29.020 locale talk WB5IRI, 29.000 good signal But can I trust my own ears? Just I had a short qso on 29.020 in AM with: WB2RON His signal were a short time very good, then I lost him.... I heard not him, but others on 29.020. Did I hear it good, he using 20 Watts.... hi, hi.... Great, because I used only 15 Watts, naked carrier! Comming out an old Kenwood TS 50 Now I use a strange antenna.... hi, hi.... It is a dipole, but one leg hanging nearly horizontale from the roof to a tree. The other leg hanging from the roof to a pole (3 meters high) While I type this I hear plenty AM stations from the Usa on Ten!! ;) Around 29.011 I heard Tim, I think.... ;D Greetings and have a good AM DX, Henk / pe1mph Dokkum / The Netherlands Title: Re: Did I hear it good.... Post by: pe1mph on October 25, 2024, 01:30:19 PM Hi, hi....
This evening I listen a long time to Rick, VE6CQ He were very busy on 29.080 in AM. Rick did had mostly more then S9, a big signal. Regularly times I tried to contact him, but.... :'( But I wait..... and wait.... Suddenly a station asking me to go 10 khz down. Ofcourse I did, but his signal were absolutely gone... So I listen a short time on 29.070. An AM Lover needs to 'be patient'... ;D And yes later there I heard a very famous call for me: WB1EAD! During many years Dave and I did have qso's on Ten Meter. Great to hear him again on Ten ofcoures in AM. His signal were not strong, but at the end of our talk: S9! Qso time by me 19.10 hour, GMT 17.10. Thanks for calling me Dave!! :) Greetings, Henk / pe1mph Dokkum / The Netherlands Title: Re: Did I hear it good.... Mostly every afternoon I listen to Ten Meter (10 meter band). I can have fun, only by listening to all those AM stations. Some times I go to my studio to make a qso. With only 20 Watt into some wires..... great to talk with AM lovers. Hi, hi I have evenso big fun when I heard a well-know name/call for me ;D Mentioned by an AM station outsite The Netherlands! Often I make then a little recording by my mobile phone.... hi, hi.... And sent it to the AM Lover from The Netherlands. Evenso I have big fun when 'new' stations are talking in AM! I know some around me, who are surprised about AM on the Ten Meter Band! Sometimes I hear stations from the Usa calling cq, cq and cq. Then I hear totaly nothing returning, a pity... But mostly I hear such in the late afternoon or early evening! Perhaps.... most Usa AM stations using (horizontale) beams? We (Europe) using mostly a wire antenna, thats the reason? Hi, hi..... surprice for me! :D Some days ago I got a little movie from: Dave W2VW 'Will send a link to you of video of your QSO on 29.010 mhz in a separate email.' Hi, hi.... I heard Dave often but mostly stations stronger then me on air..... Impressed! From such nice emails I got several times. :) For example the email from WA4JQS, Tony After our qso on 29050 he sent me an email, great! Or the reaction from CT7AIU, I sent him a recording: 'You make my day!ยด Oh by the way: I heard often VE6CQ with a very nice audio. :D And sometimes I hear on 29000 khz a for me strange sound! ??? Yesterday afternoon I heard that on 29150 khz.... Who can tell me where it is comming from?? Last days I can hear many BC stations from the Usa on mediumwave. For example WINS on 1010 khz I can hear nearly every (early) morning. From Canada often I hear VOCM on 590 khz I have no idea if you listen to shortwave stations from The Netherlands. Now on air Radio Delta on 6170 khz from Holland, see: https://radiodelta.am/ Perhaps.... Thats all for now. Greetings, Henk / pe1mph Dokkum / The Netherlands |
