Title: Quick Source for Propagation Reports? Post by: W1UJR on May 30, 2005, 09:39:20 AM This may have been answered before, but a quick scan of the search function did not highlight for me.
Is there any website or source for quick propagation forcasts? Not sure why, but this spring and summer the bands have been really in and out and half the time I wonder if the antenna came down. Thinking there must be some site where I could check this. Of course I can use the old time method of listening for WWV, CHU and such. Anyone have a fav. site? Tnx! . They show a free, real time map of North America with red dots indicating thunderstorm activity. It is very effective for predicting nighttime QRN conditions on the lower frequency bands.
Sometimes, excellent skywave propagation brings heavy QRN from distant thunderstorms, while poorer long-skip propagation conditions allow shorter distance contacts with less noise. https://thunderstorm.vaisala.com/tux/jsp/explorer/explorer.jsp Title: Quick Source for Propagation Reports? Here's one site that has a lot of propagation information concatenated together on one long page: http://dx.qsl.net/propagation/ Title: Quick Source for Propagation Reports? Post by: W1UJR on May 30, 2005, 08:49:52 PM Thanks guys, I like the "MUF Map", a quick visual way to see what is going on.
I also like the subscription via email idea, very handy and requires no input from me. As always, appreciate it! -Bruce Title: Quick Source for Propagation Reports? Post by: Steve - WB3HUZ on May 30, 2005, 11:49:37 PM If you are RSS capable, subscribe to this feed. Far more efficient than email.

For REAL real-time propagation on 20M and up, I use the beacon system. Here: http://www.ncdxf.org/beacons.html Title: Quick Source for Propagation Reports? Post by: Steve - WB3HUZ on June 02, 2005, 12:09:17 AM I use NetNewsWire. But there are tons of them out there including an extension for Firefox called Sage. Yahoo and maybe Google too offer customizable RSS feeds. AMfone - Dedicated to Amplitude Modulation on the Amateur Radio Bands
