I don't know if reading is really a hobby - let alone the number 1 hobby for men?  Maybe the list is in no particular order.  Interesting, however...

...or an alcohol connoisseur. Actually, that goes along with ham radio. There's two hobbies at once.

Knitting?

Since that made the list, incredibly, I can admit knitting a FB ground screen out of steel wool. It didn't turn out too ba-a-a-a-d.

That's an interesting list. I wonder how many of them many of us have had as hobbies at one time or another. One of my friend once joked that my hobby was collecting hobbies. (ADHD???)  I scored 24/75. Can I be smug? How about if I use an SDR for #2?   ;D

Clark, if you want a *manly* ground screen, you use 1x2 welded horse fence...  ;)

Ok, here's the REAL problem.

Look at the picture.
I know what all that gear is!!

Note that in the pix on the web page, most of the men seem to have pipes!
Can you spot the pipes in the ham radio picture?  ;)

                   _-_-

PS. worse still, I just realized i own two of those pieces of gear, right now!!

I have 3 of the equipment, plus the bug and the mike. He has pipes but he has a cigarette in the ashtray.

And a cool Clark Gable mustache. I mean how much more manly can you get?
Not to many years ago virtually everyone smoked so we all smelled 'neutral' to each other.
Good thing. All gear was pristeen.  ;D

I own a R-390A and a few ARC-5 sets and used to own a Johnson Viking II that was covered inside with nicotine film.

Back in 2005 I tried to track that down. Appears to be lost forever. I was wanting CafePress to make me a shirt with that image on the back. At that time, CafeExpress was selling W8VYZ Coffee Cups, T-Shirt, and "Thongs".  :P
I don't recall the details anymore, but I think the call W1GFH is been recycled at least once.

for good or bad let the photoshop run wild.

Note the derivative work is a GIF with the associated messy colors. The JPG has more accurate color. What the author of the derivative work may have produced that is better colorwise, I don't know.
