Title: Back on the air on 75 with some caution Post by: w1vtp on November 07, 2015, 06:46:53 PM My friend, Bob, KB1QV came by and did most of the work getting my 75 meter antenna operational. I did not get my Palomar Engineering 5 KW balun in time so I went to the candy store and bought a MFJ 1.5 KW 918 balun. There seems to be some difference in the design center of the antenna but my automatic tuner seems to like it so I'm back in operation. We'll see how things go tomorrow morning on our usual Sunday AM AM operation

Sorry I mangled your call and got Larry's call and name wrong, that is what happens when you have no high end hearing left. The 32V did sound very good to me, smooth and balanced to my unbalanced ears. Maybe you could use a bit more audio (the band was not great) but it sounds very good! My 32V3 just keeps working. I use it as a transmitter some times, and exciter most of the time, so it gets a lot of use. |
