We tend to think in terms of traditional chassis and front panels, here's another way, over-the-top and expensive, but still... would be sweet for a little SDR receiver or even a Hermes type unit? I always liked machinist but have never done it nor can afford a mill that would do what your picture shows. let alone the maybe expensive block of aluminum that was made from!
