Title: The Bear Facts: Antennas are for the birds.. Post by: W2NBC on March 18, 2014, 09:13:47 PM Scene 1: First day off during the week in quite a while. The temperature was over 45, sun shining, and that energy level just beginning to well up for that spring time birth.. What to do, hmmm.. Antennas of course!! I donned the "tooltime" belt with rope, cutters, and stuffed my pockets with various antenna fixin' essentials.. Yes folks, I was a regular 'antenna mechanic'; yup that was me.. ;)
Ready, set, -STOP- Scene 2: Gentleman and lady(s) meet Mr. Bear.. I would guess over 600 lbs of anti-antenna work was he.. Attracted by the bird (bear) feeder, he would not leave. Loud noises and dogs wouldn't budge his love of sunflower seeds.. This went on for 2 hours when the sun decided to duck.. Yes, this antenna mechanic was out of luck.. Post by: K9DXL on March 18, 2014, 09:35:42 PM They're just waking up and they're hungry! :o Here on Madeline Island in northern Wisconsin we have a hard time keeping feeders at all because the bears routinely shake 'em down. I feel your pain!
