Title: R388 dial cord
Post by: ka4koe on February 19, 2013, 10:44:13 PM
As you likely have heard, I am restoring an R388/URR. While reinstalling the front panel, I inadvertently caused the band dial cord to slip off the drum pulley. In the process of re-removing the front panel, the dial cord got twisted around the shaft of pulley "B". Reference Page 71, Figure 39, Collins R388/URR Manual, April 1952.

Is there anyway to remove Pulley B to help clear up this mess and avoid destroying the cord?

Thanks

Philip

Fixed it! But it cost me a nasty burn. My right forearm touched a bare 100w bulb over my work desk.
