Title: Thanks
Post by: N3PDT on January 22, 2013, 12:52:40 AM
Just a quick thank you to all who offered help a few weeks back on my Johnson Viking II. It's on the air now getting good reports on both AM phone and CW. Still have a thing or two to tweak, but it's been a great learning platform and sparked me to get a lot more serious about the technical side of things. One of our club's electronics gurus (and incidentally, a former instructor) has taken me under his wing, and I have been trying to soak it all in as fast as I can.

Thanks again.

Doug,

Glad you got it back up and running, plus you learned a lot in the process!  I was following your progress and obviously the help you got on Amfone was stellar.  Lots of knowledge here and most are glad to help others.  As you have found, its good to have a local mentor as well.  Now your ready to tackle other technical challenge!

I hope to work you on the Viking 2 or the 5100.  Both are great transmitters which I am sure you will enjoy.
