Title: PTT for DX60B
Post by: VE3LYX on October 24, 2012, 08:56:59 AM
One of the weak points in the DX 60 and many other Am rigs is the switch . Often they are worn out  going from AM to stdby and back continually. Partly because of arcing perhaps and partly just wear and tear. I added push talk to my DX60B several months ago and use it now all the time. Below I will give step by step instructions.
1 Remove your CW key from the drawer.
2 Plug it into the key jack on your DX 60 or DX60B
3 When you want to talk Press the key while talking.
4 When you want to standby let the key up.
Done.
No more switch arcing , no more reaching, no more trouble.
In fact I bought a used foot switch and use it now when I am speaking.
Drawbacks? Only one. It is so simple most will refuse to even try it.
