Title: New addition to Bendix TA12 project - MP-28BA power supply
Post by: w1vtp on August 02, 2012, 06:54:06 PM
All

Someone on this forum put me on to this eBay score and score I did!  The chances of getting this power supply is rare.  Anyway - whoever you are - thanks.  I took a bunch of pictures but will upload a couple of teasers here.  The rest of the pics (hi-res albeit compressed) will be on one of my web sites.  Here's the link - http://homepage.fcgnetworks.net/w1vtp/TA12/

Mike, WU2D, did you ever get your modulator squared away?

This project will be the culmination of a life-long search for the transmitter. See  http://amfone.net/Amforum/index.php?topic=29010.0

One more thing.  Anyone have a non-invasive way of removing that masking tape?  Oh yes, where do I get that connector

Congrats on the score, that is one rare item.  'Specially by NE.

I see you have the same NLS babyscope I do.  Almost 30 years and still going strong.  Long live tube scopes!

That puppy can be floated above ground.  Nice scope - works perfectly

Got one too! ! ! ! It's a handy little critter. The only thing that ever failed in it was the battery pack.

In another lifetime, I used mineral spirits to remove petrified masking tape. Let it soak a bit, then scrape it with a bit of wooden stick. you could also try GOOF OFF.

Ronald

Someone else somewhere  recommended peanut butter - for the peanut oil in it.  I can try your suggestion.  Not so messy.  I plan on painting the end pieces with black Rustolium anyway 'cause one end cover got dented and the paint flacked off

Wowsers, Al!

I agree with Dennis - very impressive that you found this unit. Moreso because not only is it complete and unhacked, it includes the shock mount! Doubt I've seen a handful of these units over the decades.

Ya done well. Can't wait to hear it on the air.
