Title: UTC driver transformer
Post by: W3GMS on June 05, 2012, 04:53:15 PM
I saw Ron's post looking for a driver transformer.  I gave my last CG-53 to a good friend who needed one. So just for the heck of it I went on Ebay to see what was there.  Wow was I shocked.  I saw a pair of UTC Special Series S9 Driver Transformers for a buy it now price of $299.99!  No biding on this item just a buy it now price.  I am curious to see if it gets sold.  I would think there is still good availability on these at various Ham Fests.

CG-53ax transformers come up from time to time on ebay and they usually sell for well under $100. Often under $50.

The people trying to sell S series small audio transformers for three digit prices don't know the difference between the S, CG, and LS series.

They are looking for a customer with more money than knowledge.
