A few vintage Hallicrafters ads

Cool!  73 East Elm Street is a nice apt by the lake.  Pretty pricey nowadays I suspect.

That is the only advertisement I recall featuring Bill junior but I am sure there were more.

Hallicrafter's advertising agency did a nice job and were probably pretty influential in helping separate amateur's from their money.

Those ads were a delight to look at Rodger, tnx for putting them up.  re the Moseley in the other thread, there can be no doubt that was the Missouri Moseley company -- the logo etc. is exactly the same and in those days I doubt there were any rip off copycats.  That tx must be extremely rare.  I took note of the sx 73 being operated on the table but with rack ears and handles--all very acceptable but nice to see in a commercial print ad the unwritten message that rack gear doesn't have to be in a rack or rack cabinet to be used and look good.

Pretty sure all the 73s were rackable, though there was a mil-Halli cabinet available for them too. They show up from time to time on ebay. Hammarlund used the 'cabinet-less' approach for their early Super Pros, front panel being larger than the dust cover, complete with feet. Though the table models weren't rack-mountable as they lacked the lug holes.

Great ads, Rodger. I also thank you for sharing them. Especially interesting is the free receiver give-away. Wonder where they are today, and if any were ever documented?

I am pretty sure I remember reading something about those receivers in another Halli ad.  I will keep a watch out for it as I work my way through some new stacks of Radio and Television News.  I am scanning interesting amateur related articles for easy future reference.
