I put this up last Autumn after I had to cut down my 90' pine tree.

There is something very appealing about the simplicity of a nice clean vertical installation, at least to hams :)

Take care not to exceed the power rating of the 75 meter loading coil, as I recall even with the "high power" version you have to watch it on AM.  I bought one of these back in 1975 and it still gets used for portable setup once in awhile.

Let me tell you about my 5BTV experience. I worked an awful lot of AM and CW using that aerial. I liked to pound brass on 15M and made alot of DX contacts with it. I echo Rodger's sentiments about the 75/80M resonator. Mine had a tendancy to get water in it. I placed it in the oven for about 20 min. @ 180°F I then placed a bead of RTV around the top where the metal meets insulation.

    I was wondering about the AM capability of that 80S resonator. Hustler says 1000 W. I assume thats PEP. I only run 100 W carrier so it should handle it. I won't be running the big rig on it. I have two stingers cut. One is for 3705 kc and the other is cut for 3885 kc. I can tilt it down and change the stinger in less than 5 minutes. Performance has far exceeded my expectations on 80M.

I used mine with an Apache without any issues.

The Hustler has been around a long time and seems to be a favorite with DXexpeditions, for some reason.
Easy to "throw up in a hurry"??? Magical properties ?
