Here's some info on legislative positions that were developed and approved by the ARRL Board  to guide the efforts of ARRL volunteers and staff during the 112th Congress of the United States (2011-2012):

I find this part in the above hyperlinked page disturbing:

<<<Objective #3: The ARRL opposes legislation that diminishes the rights of federal licensees in favor of unlicensed emitters or encourages the deployment of spectrum-polluting technologies.>>>

It sounds like the manufacturers of hash and buzzie appliances and others are trying to solve the interference problem not by making better products but by changing the law.   It figures.
