Title: FUNcube.. Anyone tested this or even know someone that has?
Post by: ke7trp on January 05, 2011, 11:30:16 PM

They are sold out already.  But I am sure in a month these will be available without delay.  Seems kinda neat. WIDE bandwidth.  All mode.  Could make a nice band scope.

As a former satellite op, think it is a neat device, takes the place of those expensive down convertors. However, freq range limited, no where near HF.

Looks like they are back in stock.

Did you see this video, may help.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFZGlqKPPQo&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Very very cool...   I am sure there will be more like this on the market soon.

"Your item has sold out". Yes I was tempted by the sheer utility and would have bought my first SDR. Pity.

Yeah. Like I said, You will probably have to wait a month. The waiting list is over 10,000 people acorrding to one website.

Finally got my hands wrapped around my dongle.  :D

Pretty darn nice little SDR RX, even though it's smaller than my thumb!

Recieves from about 54mhz to 2,147.5mhz

Heard several satellites last night on just a POS "discone" ant.

Neat stuff.

Now I need to get back to work on my 455khz IF dongle.
Should have prototypes by June or so.

What software do you use with it? What sort of bandwidths?

I'm using HDSDR, which is a re-written take-off of Winrad.

I use that because it allows tuning over 999,999mhz...  Winrad does not.
Also can use Spectravue, which was the software for the SDR-IQ, and SDR-14 by RF-Space.

Can use power SDR too I guess.

Basically any sound-card based I/Q software.

Bandwidth is less than 96khz ( It looks like about 87khz)

That's the Funcube Dongle.

(My 455khz IF dongle will be about the same, but the Lo will be fixed, or possibly a couple choices right around 455khz.)
