Title: New addition Post by: w1vtp on December 06, 2010, 07:51:24 PM Here's my latest addition to the shack. The slugs are for 6 meters. Now, if I could just get ahold of a couple HF slugs - one at 1KW - the other one could be less - for the reflected reading

Good move. 73DG Title: Re: New addition Post by: Opcom on December 06, 2010, 08:27:29 PM That is one sweet power measurement setup there.
Are the red knobs on the unit below original? that look very good. Title: Re: New addition Post by: w1vtp on December 06, 2010, 09:49:19 PM That is one sweet power measurement setup there. That's the dual diversity version of the SP600-JX17 Title: Re: New addition Post by: k4kyv on December 06, 2010, 09:59:35 PM The problem I see with that wattmeter is that you need two slugs for each range. Even one is expensive enough.

That is true (to the most casual observer). However, the price was right and I sort've like the idea of being able to see the forward and reverse at the same time. I do have a single 43 but as have been indicated it's a bit tipsy with heavy cables. There's an outfit that frequents the festers around here who sells slugs -- I'll be on the prowl for a couple of HF slugs. Or am I making it up? A mind is a terrible thing to lose....

Title: Do VSWR in your head! Post by: WD8BIL on December 07, 2010, 03:58:38 PM Don't need no stinkin' crossed needles. AMfone - Dedicated to Amplitude Modulation on the Amateur Radio Bands
Just remember 4% reflected is 1.5 VSWR and 11% is 2:1 ! Round that to 5% and 10% and ya can't go wrong. |
