Title: New England Wireless and Steam - Steam Up
Post by: W1TAV on October 05, 2010, 10:20:06 PM
Well last Saturday was the New England Wireless and Steam Museum Annual "Steam Up" in RI.   AMer's Larry - NE1S, Bruce - W1UJR,  Glenn - N1SNG were in attendance.

This is a great take and a rare opportunity to see so much live steam operation at one place!  Also the chance to try your "wrist" on the 1907 "PJ" (Point Judith) Spark transmitter.

In somewhat of throw back to times past, you can't get any closer to these operating Steam Engines unless you get caught in one!

Below in order is myself W1TAV, Dave W1GAC, Bruce W1UJR and Larry NE1S in the PJ Radio Room.   The next one Bruce W1UJR sends out NE1S's call on the Spark Transmitter! Look Close and you can see the spark and the lit lamps.

Here are some more pictures form the Steam Up..  Hard to believe that in 2010 there is still a place that we can get this close to live steam in operation. I love it!
