Title: I gotz dem broke up ceramic insulator bloooooooooooz....... Post by: N3DRB The Derb on August 14, 2009, 08:33:42 AM Anyone got some ceramic feedthroughs they can toss me? 1/2" hole. Wifey broke all the bottoms save one, all the tops are ok. Maybe someone gots some bottoms and no tops?
need 4 matching, 3 for the back apron of the chassis, one for the deck. All the hardware is ok. install them, wire with new cloth HV wire, spiff 50 year old solder connections & nut/bolt/washers, get 810 tubes and 45 volt bias battery. Big modulator deck done. oh yah, install line to grid transformer in place of useless 2.5volt transformer. then done. ::) oh...cut new meter hole in front to allow for installation of huge 4" munky swinging 0~500 ma meter. then done. I think. Title: Re: I gotz dem broke up ceramic insulator bloooooooooooz....... Post by: N0WEK on August 14, 2009, 11:23:03 AM Will these do Derb?
These fit a 3/8" hole and I've managed to find two. I think I have some more around here somewhere but it may take me a bit to find them. They're yours if you can use them. Why is it that the bottoms get broken? I've got plenty of spare tops, but no extra bottoms. ??? (http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/4515/img8269o.th.jpg) (http://img20.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img8269o.jpg) I used to use these to feed antenna wire through aircraft skins and then up to the tail and out to the wing for temporary HF radio installations for aircraft delivery. 200 mph insulators! :o They're HH Smith 9542 (Now Abbatron/HH Smith) 4 of them and a couple of spare tops are headed your way! Title: Re: I gotz dem broke up ceramic insulator bloooooooooooz....... Post by: N3DRB The Derb on August 14, 2009, 01:31:02 PM I dunno. when my wife smacked em onto the floor, all the bottom broke 'cept one... none of the tops broke. I think we on to something. ???

soon as I get my greenlee punches I can start cutting toob socket holes an putting in sockets and start wiring same and start making use of my new chassis. Title: Re: I gotz dem broke up ceramic insulator bloooooooooooz....... Post by: N0WEK on August 18, 2009, 10:10:18 PM Glad I could help, Derb!
I wish I'd bought some of the bigger Greenlee punches back when they were reasonable, they're out of sight now! I've got the common conduit sizes and a few others, but none of the big ones for meters, transformers and stuff like that. Greg Title: Re: I gotz dem broke up ceramic insulator bloooooooooooz....... Post by: N3DRB The Derb on August 19, 2009, 01:11:57 AM I got 4 coming...... biggest one a 2 1/4" which I think is the correct size for 813/HK257B sockets.... AMfone - Dedicated to Amplitude Modulation on the Amateur Radio Bands
2 1/2" is the size for 4/400 sockets i think... need to score 1 of them. |
