Title: Looking for Temp comp caps Post by: AB3FL on May 01, 2009, 03:14:58 PM I may be searching for unobtanium, but I will try anyway. I have decided to do the K6AD temp comp mods to my MoHack.......Where can I get them from? or does anyone haver a stock of them.....None of the big houses(jameco, mouser, newark, etc) seem to have them

Boy, that is quite a list ! The NPO's are in current production, but you might have to hand select to those precise values. Think that many of those "N"'s were someone's custom part back in the day. In the next week, will look @ my Disc Cap collection to see which of the N values that I have ... probably not many, but will check (they are in another location). Good Luck 73 Vic Title: Re: Looking for Temp comp caps Post by: Jim, W5JO on May 01, 2009, 07:23:37 PM Wow what a selection of the negative values. Like Vic said, you may have to parallel to get the NPO selections. I do hope you have an accurate cap checker. I took a look and can't help you with the TC caps. I have some but not the ones you need.
Good luck finding them. Title: Re: Looking for Temp comp caps Post by: K6IC on May 04, 2009, 11:47:51 AM Hi Tom, AMfone - Dedicated to Amplitude Modulation on the Amateur Radio Bands
Well, I did look for your N values in my collection of Discs, and was surprised that there were NO hits ... not even close ones. There are a few more-or-less standard N rates, like N750, N470, N330, N2200, N3300 etc, but some of the ones on UR list, I never even heard of before. Perhaps in the day, larger mfgs would spec a custom rate for the exact situation in their TV set or other RX/TX. There may be some triiage that you can perform to get the most bang for your effort -- ie there must be a number of circuits which K6AD is trying to compensate, and some probably have a larger effect on temp stability performance than others . The NPOs are currently manufactured, so you could perhaps select your exact values from a large paoulation of parts, or make them from combos of parts. 73 GOOD LUCK !! Sri could not help. Vic |
