Title: discarded uninteruptable power supplies Post by: w4bfs on April 12, 2009, 07:56:26 PM just junked out a 25 pounder with 2 bad gel cells .... got an inverter transformer (11 pounds) that looks good for a 25 to 30 Amp fil xfmr ...it had no problem lighting up a 4-1000 with a variac on the new primary ... some other windings ...a circuit board with some nice relays and fets ....best of all is some nice heavy 120v connectors and power pigtail that looks handy to power a rack cabinet

After they found that out, no more throw-aways. But I glawmed onto a back breaker that can handle 4 PCs and their CRT monitors and my audio board/processor rack ans self-powered mon speakers. Just probe around the winding until you find the center tap and you have the filament transformer for a very large tube? Pair of 833's, 4X1, No Problem.
