Title: Anyone have ecperience with QRO-Parts ? Post by: K6IC on January 28, 2008, 09:46:15 PM Does anyone here have experience with ordering Radio parts from the internet site
http://qro-parts.com/ They appear to sell vacuum variables, tubes, etc of Russian/Eastern Block origin. Any comments from personal experience, or even from second-hand comment ?. Thanks Vic K6IC Title: Re: Anyone have ecperience with QRO-Parts ? Post by: ab3al on January 28, 2008, 09:55:39 PM I do
I ordered 5 gs-35b tubes with coolers... couple hundred bucks.. they estimated shipping of 2 weeks I got them in 4 days.. one was cracked.. they asked for a picture of it.. 5 days later had a replacement no charge.. I don't know if any of them are good cause i aint built the amp yet.. but the actual transaction seemed fine.. and @ 80 bucks each for a more rugged 8877 equivalent.. If only two work I'm still ahead 73 Title: Re: Anyone have ecperience with QRO-Parts ? Post by: K6IC on January 28, 2008, 11:03:43 PM OK, Thanks Mack and Bill ... guess that will give it a shot for some Vac variables, relays etc and see how it goes.
Thanks again for the info, Vic Title: Re: Anyone have ecperience with QRO-Parts ? Post by: k3sqp on January 29, 2008, 09:43:42 AM I recently got a bunch of doorknob caps from qro. Got them in 5 days. They apparently
warehouse stuff in Texas and if it is available there , it will ship from there otherwise it comes from mother Russsia. The parts were NOS and seemed to be pretty good quality @ a real good price. Thank you too for that info. Seems that they must be OK. 73 TU again. Vic Title: Re: Anyone have ecperience with QRO-Parts ? Post by: K6IC on February 19, 2008, 03:26:37 PM UPDATE:
Did order some parts from ORO-Parts. They were very responsive, the parts look great, were very well packed, and even with shipping seem to be a good deal. Only did the most rudimentary tests on the Vac Variables, Vac relays and doorknobs, but all seems fine ... No association with them, just wanted to pass along my initial experiences. 73 Thanks for the input, Vic K6IC Title: Re: Anyone have ecperience with QRO-Parts ? I bought tubes and doorknob caps from them. Delivered quickly and worked fine. Art Title: Re: Anyone have ecperience with QRO-Parts ? Post by: Todd, KA1KAQ on February 20, 2008, 09:59:47 AM Never had any business dealings with this company, but it's good to see here that others have, with good results. The availability of such items from a trustworthy and dependable source can only help the AM and HB communities moving forward.
Title: Re: Anyone have ecperience with QRO-Parts ? Post by: W2XR on February 20, 2008, 10:42:22 AM I purchased two high-power hockey-puck 1000 pf at 15KV plate blocking caps from them about 1.5 years ago. The parts were Russian military surplus and of very robust construction. I installed one in my 2x 4-400A HPA and the other remains as an on-the-shelf spare.
Their service was first rate; very quick delivery, good packing, and the technical questions I asked before I purchased the parts were answered by someone clearly highly technical and very familiar with these items. My items were shipped directly from Russia, and arrived promptly. In summary, I would definately buy from them again. Hope this helps! 73, Bruce Title: Re: Anyone have ecperience with QRO-Parts ? Thanks for the additional info. They seem to be going out of their way to provide very good service to the Ham community. Am sure that I will buy from them again. 73 TU Vic |
