Junkyard Dawg HV Supply
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: I had some work to do on the 1500V supply, so I took the opportunity to snap this shot.

The 10uF oil-filled capacitor in the center of the deck shorted internally. It went out with a muffled "BAP". Prior to that, this supply had 24uF of filter capacitance.

After this shot was taken, the cap was removed, handcuffed, and taken downtown. The supply has been reinstalled with 14uF of filtering until a suitable replacement oil condenser can be dug up.

Yes, that long string of resistors dangling in the breeze is the meter multiplier. If it were pretty, it would have a different name.
