Attached is a GIF schematic of my so-called compressor microphone circuit. It does AGC, peak limiting, and compression all in a simple and low-cost package. My last one is mounted in an Altoids mint can.

I also have a 600-Ohm balanced output version. My friend, Arne (W7TRO) uses one to drive his Bauer 707.

You can build one in about two hours, and I have been wiring them on a Radio Shack 276-150 prototype board (no longer carried by RS). I've built over a dozen of them with similar results.

Man its late, and i may be asking something that is right there in my face, but i see the pot for modulation.  Is there any adjustment for agc and the peak limiting.. i guess the peak limiting would be the mod pot but just wanting to clear it up for me. if there is no adjustment what is the max gain that the agc will give to lower level audio below the mod level set with pot.  Hope some of this came out in English. lol

Hi Steve
Thanks for the schematic diagram. But I only see AGC, and depending at the speed, (the cap // to the gate), it may compress. But where is the peak limiting?

M0VRF:
The SSM2167 was invented for such use....

Steve - K4HX:
Not my circuit, so I can't comment. Contact WA7JHZ.
