CW is just a narrower version of AM

« on: October 20, 2018, 12:02:46 PM »

I am doing a video series on the Novice Stations of 1960-75 and am looking for some pictures of you in your station, that I can plop into the story here and there.

Part 1 is out now.

Traveling all next week. Geeze I don't have the time I used to to do these video's. I need to catch up!

Great video! I disagree with you toward the end though. Hams are not geeks at all. We're comparable to something like smart Hell's Angels.

Nice work Mike. Brings up nostalgic feelings. I wonder how many of us still have our novice setups, and actually use them? I for one don't, the stuff is long gone.

Interesting approach... from the department of unsolicited free advice... strongly suggest the use of a
clip on lavaliere microphone! Too much room echo, it takes away from what is being said... if ur using such
a mic (I didn't spot the mic) then maybe reposition it?

Hey Larry,
Hope all is well with you.

Although, I don't fall into the age range for Mike's request, I still have my novice rig. Even if I was in his age range, I don't have any pictures. the rig works and every once in a while fire it up. Licensed in 79 and used an HW-101 as my novice rig.

Home of GORT. A buddy of mine named the 813 rig GORT.
His fear was when I turned it on for the first time life on earth would come to a stand still.

Wow Great Novice Pic! And yes on the audio. It is fine off the camera in the shack which absorbs sound but in the little dining room  - YUK!
