Mom
« on: October 28, 2016, 02:08:08 AM »

I'm sad to report that my Mother passed away. I was there with her at the time and somehow it made that part easier but it's a hard thing.

Mom survived cancer surgery for 8 very good and fairly easy years, but the treatments recently stopped working, nothing would help, and a couple months ago she got sick again. My father passed away a year ago OCT 28.

She went peacefully and comfortably in her sleep this morning OCT 27 surrounded by her family, at home, in her own bed, with her cats free to come and go from her room. That's exactly what she wanted. We took care of things daily and arranged in-home health care so she'd be as happy as possible.

Her wish is that any condolences or flowers/funerary gifts be in the form of donations to the SPCA. Your prayers are deeply appreciated.

If anyone would consider sharing their home with an indoors-only cat or a pair of cats (DFW area) PM me. Most are young (~3 years) and all are healthy with vet records. All have been treated only with kindness and are good natured. Most were rescued as kittens and raised by my parents.

Patrick, my sincere condolences.

Nothing I say or anyone else says changes anything much or will likely make you feel any differently or better,
so I won't try.

I'm sorry Pat
You all certainly worked to make her passing comfortable and as pleasant as it could be. You will take much comfor from that as years go by.

So sorry for your loss Pat.  Loosing anyone is difficult, but loosing your mother is especially hard.

I am glad she had some good years after she was diagnosed with cancer.  That truly is a gift.

Sincerely,

Nothing can prepare you for this. My Mom passed away very suddenly. Definitely more of a shock, but I had the comfort of knowing she didn't suffer. Memories are forever and I'm sure you have many good ones!. My condolences to you and your family.

I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom, Patrick.  My mother passed away 42 years ago but I think of her and Dad every day.  I guess we never quite get over the loss of our
parents.  God bless.

Sorry to read this, Pat. Cancer is still a hard thing to beat. Seems like short victories, only.
I'm in remission and probably play out 3-5 years. Not many winners in the cancer industry.

Sorry to hear the news of your mother's passing, Pat.

Losing pets and parents are difficult things to experience.

May she rest in peace.
