Does anyone know where the manual for the 1 or 5 KW Power Rock can be downloaded for free? I want to study it esp. the 5K unit because it uses 3CX3000s at high voltages.

I have schematics for the 1kW version and some simplified schemats for the 5kW version.

The 1kW version used one 3-500Z switcher and two 3-500Z's in the final.

The 5kW version used one 3CX3000F7's for the switcher and one 3CX3000F7 in the final with a 13 kV power supply. It also used a third harmonic (Class F) "peaking" circuit to increase efficiency.

Both transmitters were PDM modulated so I don't think any of that stuff would apply to your amp.

I'd be interested in the schematics for the 1kw.  I want to see how they float the tubes.

On the 5 kW unit the Final's effective Plate-to-Cathode voltage was 5 kV with an average plate current of 1.2 Amps.

The various stages are either transformer coupled or FO coupled for isolation.

Below are some schematics for the 1 kW transmitter.

The single 3-500Z modulator's grid is switched at -125 to +125V by the Audio/PDM circuit.

Lots of DC and AC feedback goes into the Audio/PDM circuit.

Those are fine. I want to study the schematics for the most part. Maybe learn something - so it's why I was after the whole book theory section and all- however these will keep me busy for a good while. Thanks!
