I have always wanted a finger ring with my call letters on it. I don't see any advertised in QST anymore, and when I checked into the price $900 seemed a little high. Dose anyone know if they are still made, or where I might get one for the poor man?

Nowadays a better investment might be a  W-9-B-F-O  tattoo.

One on your forehead would certainly get the XYL's attention...  Wink

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.

And at our ages, you could refer to it as a Gramp Stamp.

You can Google "amateur radio personalized rings" and get lots of hits.
Or you try a local jewelry store
Or you can try here for personalized rings: http://www.limogesjewelry.com/rings/name-initial-rings

There is no doubt that those rings are of the finest quality but you can have a craftsman make an individualized one for you, similar or of your on design, and possibly even use your own precious metals.

I want to be very quiet about this because I think my wife wants to surprise me with a birthday gift.  BUT, I guess gold is much cheaper in Ukraine.  Also, they sell 21 karat gold whereas jewelers over here only sell up to 18 karat.  It didn't seem right to me either, but we showed our local jeweler said.

Anyway, I may be getting a gold ring as a gift with my call sign on it.  It'll be engraved here because I don't know how good the Russians are at making english letters.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

This is how it appeared on the ARRL web site: http://www.arrl.org/shop/Men-s-Traditional-Ring-Mastercraft-Awards
Then they pointed you to this: http://www.mastercraftawards.com/arrl/arrl_order.html
or http://www.mastercraftawards.com/

If you're thinking about putting an ARRL logo on any jewelry, you might want to get ARRL's blessing. All of their logos are covered by copyright and/or trademark umbrellas. The same is probably true for the AWA logo. Of course if you just put AWA on the jewelry, it could stand for the old American Wrestling Association or the American Wrestling Affiliates or the Africa Wrestling Alliance.

Here's the Russian 14k ring I was talking about.  I'm not going to get it engraved in case they mess it up.  It's nice by itself.  Maybe I'll just get a tattoo or something.
